Ever wondered what makes people genuinely excited about coming to work? At Cashfree Payments, we asked our team members this question, and their answers revealed something remarkable—it’s the freedom to make their ideas come to life. When they have the space to make decisions and try new approaches, they don’t just create better solutions—they build a culture where everyone feels empowered to take ownership of their work. This philosophy has fostered a workplace culture where independence and initiative thrive, enabling our talented professionals to push boundaries and drive meaningful impact.

For Gayathri Devi, our Frontend Engineer 1, autonomy means more than just freedom—it’s about trust. “The autonomy I experience is both empowering and supportive,” she shares. Whether it’s exploring new tools or driving creative solutions, Gayathri finds the independence to experiment and grow professionally. She recalls a project where she was entrusted with integrating Framer, a no-code solution, into Cashfree Payment’s website. “This independence enhances my problem-solving skills and makes me feel more invested in the outcomes of my work, ultimately driving my personal and professional growth.”

This sense of ownership resonates across the other teams as well. Rashi Dixit, who works with us as SDE-1, describes the autonomy she experienced during a pivotal project where she led the deployment of the E-Collect Service in the UAE. “The organisation emphasises trust, allowing individuals to assume full responsibility for their tasks and initiatives. The freedom to work on projects from start to finish has helped me develop confidence in making important decisions and dealing with complex issues.” Rashi’s ownership over these projects not only improved customer experience but also deepened her expertise in building robust systems.

For Manas Manohar, our Senior Product Designer, autonomy at Cashfree Payments is the catalyst for creativity and innovation. “As a designer, having full ownership from ideation to execution is incredibly motivating,” he says. Manas led the design of RiskShield, a flagship product, and was entrusted with critical decisions that shaped its user experience. “Designing the ‘Smart Rule Creation’ flow with full autonomy allowed me to explore innovative solutions that enhanced the product. The freedom to own such impactful decisions has not only improved the product but also accelerated my personal growth as a designer.”

Dinesh Lakhara, our SDE 3, echoes these sentiments as his journey at Cashfree Payments has been marked by significant autonomy, particularly in high-stakes projects like PG Reconciliation and Claim Reports Automation. “Having full control over these projects pushed me to develop a no-code solution for bank integrations and claims processing,” Dinesh shares. “The responsibility to deliver results independently sharpened my strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.” This level of ownership, he notes, made his work more meaningful and drove him to excel.

The trust placed in employees to lead and make decisions independently is a hallmark of life at Cashfree Payments. This culture of autonomy empowers individuals to take on new challenges, push the boundaries of their expertise, and contribute meaningfully to the company’s success. Whether it’s in engineering, product design, or any other function, the sense of ownership here inspires innovation, fosters accountability, and fuels personal and professional growth.

At Cashfree Payments, we believe that when our people have the freedom to own their work, they bring their best ideas to life—and that’s what sets us apart.
