Meet Vijay, who completed his engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Afterwards, he embarked on his professional journey in Bangalore back in 2014. Throughout his career, he has thrived in the Fintech and E-Commerce domains, honing his skills and making significant contributions.
Beyond his professional achievements, Vijay’s passions are equally captivating. He finds solace in the thrill of long bike rides, finds joy in playing badminton, and discovers harmony in the melodies of music. Moreover, he proudly claims the title of being a major foodie!

You have been a Cashien for quite some time now. Tell us about your first impression of Cashfree Payments.
I distinctly remember while the interview process was going on, I felt the clarity of questions and conversations with the interviewers was very good. The first impression was spot on! Post the interview, my connections with different leaders from Cashfree Payments reaffirmed it.
During all the conversations, I felt the company is passion-driven with a strong commitment towards its larger mission. The HR team here was very helpful in setting up all meetings with the required folks to understand the work better before I took the decision.
Looking back a year, I feel that this is one of the best decisions I have taken in my career.
The goals that we have achieved in the last year are amazing and so rewarding!

Share with us a recent memorable instance where your team’s engineering passion shone through.
An interesting story from the recent past would be our success story with the IPL. Like any organisation, we had prepared well for a heavy load during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
However the system, just like a stock market, can go beyond our imagination and well, it did!
We were seeing a variety of issues ranging from HTTP, DB Connections, Go Library issues, issues from banks and many more. While all these are happening, we witnessed our dedicated and collaborative different teams giving it all to resolving the issues. They were willing to put in extra efforts to ensure the issues were resolved in a timely manner.
Working with different teams at the same time to reduce the overall time to market and constantly sharing their learnings with other team members – allowed us to resolve all the issues and have a smooth IPL thereafter!
This is simply one of the many instances where I have seen our engineering projects being elevated from being only functional to being innovative, efficient, and impactful. This is all thanks to our passionate team.

What’s your favourite memory at Cashfree Payments? What makes it so special?
We recently had an AI Hackathon where my team and I developed an AI tool for internal use cases which can drastically change how we resolve our customer issues.
We spent a few sleepless nights coming up with the overall solution and implementation of the same. It was pretty intense and exciting at the same time to see a product grow from nothing to a demo prototype, and then taking it to production subsequently. What’s most impressive when we were able to pull this entire cycle off, in just a few days!
Why is it so special, you ask?
My team won 1st place! 🙂 Although the aim of the Hackathon was not to win but to showcase the brilliant solution that we had created, who wouldn’t love a title reward. 😉
