The balance is there, the account is linked, and the customer had already decided to buy. They pressed the wrong digit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Smart Order Retry, an eligible transaction does not have to end there. The customer enters the correct PIN on the same screen, and the payment completes on the same order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At GFF 2026, Cashfree has launched <strong>Smart Order Retry<\/strong> in partnership with Google Pay, a UPI flow that lets a customer fix a wrong PIN and complete the same payment instead of starting over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Happens_on_a_Wrong_PIN\"><\/span><strong>What Happens on a Wrong PIN<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Incorrect PIN entry is a significant share of the problem: it currently accounts for roughly <strong>20% of overall UPI payment failures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The customer picks UPI at checkout and selects Google Pay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Google Pay opens, the customer confirms the account and enters their UPI PIN.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the PIN is wrong, the bank rejects the authorisation and returns a failure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Google Pay shows a wrong PIN message with the option to try again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before Smart Order Retry, a wrong PIN meant the payment failed. Now, on an eligible, retryable transaction, a retry option is there, and completing it finishes the payment on the same order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Our_Solution_Smart_Order_Retry\"><\/span><strong>Our Solution: Smart Order Retry<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart Order Retry works through Google Pay and Cashfree acting together on the same transaction. Google Pay signals whether a transaction is eligible for a retry, and Cashfree&#8217;s gateway keeps the order open for a short window so the retry can complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"With_this_live\"><\/span><strong>With this live:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The customer gets Google Pay&#8217;s retry prompt and enters the correct PIN in the same session, with no need to return to checkout or restart the payment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The retry completes against the original order. No duplicate transaction is created and no second charge is possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the retry succeeds, the payment moves to success as normal, with no extra step for the merchant or the customer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If it does not, the transaction resolves as a failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on this share, Smart Order Retry is expected to <strong>reduce overall UPI failures by around 8%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Retry eligibility is checked per transaction and defaults to no.
