Answers to common questions on Cashfree pricing, including transaction and tax charges (TDR, TDS, Form 16A), billing and invoices, gateway and UPI charges, and setup or integration costs.

<Note>
  The transaction charges in this topic are accurate as of 10 August 2026. Cashfree's festive offer gives new merchants who sign up on or after 21 July 2026 a 0% platform fee on domestic payment gateway transactions, up to a cumulative Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of ₹20,00,000. The offer runs through 31 March 2027, or ends earlier once you reach the GMV cap. Charges can change without prior notice, so check the [Cashfree payment gateway charges](https://www.cashfree.com/payment-gateway-charges/) page for the most current rates.

  <Accordion title="What is TDR?" onClick={() => posthog.capture('Accordion Clicked', { title: "What is TDR?" })}>
    Transaction Discount Rate (TDR) is the fee that you pay for every transaction processed using a payment gateway. The rates may differ based on the payment mode used by the customer.

    For example, when a customer pays via net banking, the TDR will be low, while for international credit card payments the TDR will be higher. We discussed in details, what is TDR and how it is split.

  <Accordion title="What is TDS?" onClick={() => posthog.capture('Accordion Clicked', { title: "What is TDS?" })}>
    TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) is a tax collected by the Government of India at the time income is generated, rather than at a later date. It applies to payments such as commissions, professional fees, interest, and rent.

    In the context of Cashfree, TDS may be applicable on the payouts or commissions paid to merchants. The deducted amount is deposited with the government, and a TDS certificate (Form 16A) is issued to the merchant as proof of the deduction.

    You can use this certificate to claim credit while filing your income tax returns.

             <li>A cancelled cheque for the bank account where the refund should be credited</li>
           </ul>
    3. Cashfree Care will create a support ticket and share the estimated turnaround time (TAT).
    4. After processing, Cashfree Care will update the ticket with the UTR (Unique Transaction Reference) and the credited amount.
    5. If the details are correct, no further action is required.
    6. If you notice a discrepancy, reply to the same ticket. Cashfree Care will coordinate with the Finance team to resolve the issue.

  <Accordion title="What are the eligibility conditions for the festive 0% offer?" onClick={() => posthog.capture('Accordion Clicked', { title: "What are the eligibility conditions for the festive 0% offer?" })}>
    Cashfree's festive offer gives eligible new merchants a 0% platform fee on domestic payment gateway transactions, up to a cumulative Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of ₹20,00,000. The offer is subject to the following conditions.

    * Applies only to new merchants who sign up for a Cashfree account on or after 21 July 2026, 12:00 PM IST. Merchants who processed any transaction with Cashfree before that date aren't eligible.
    * Is applied automatically once your Know Your Customer (KYC) verification is approved and your account is activated. You don't need a promo code or a first transaction to trigger it.
    * Covers domestic payment gateway transactions up to a cumulative GMV of ₹20,00,000. This is a one-time cap, not a recurring monthly allowance.
    * Ends when any of the following happens first: you use the full ₹20,00,000 GMV, the festive campaign ends on 31 March 2027, or you're disqualified under the fair usage conditions below. After the offer ends, the standard rate of 1.95% plus applicable taxes applies automatically.
    * Doesn't apply to the following payment methods, which are always charged the standard rate: American Express cards, Diners Club cards, corporate credit cards, EMI (credit card, debit card, and cardless), prepaid cards, Pay Later, subscriptions (e-mandate), international card payments through the International Payment Gateway (IPG), and any payment method with a standard Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) of 3% or higher.
    * Doesn't waive Goods and Services Tax (GST). GST is charged at 18% (or the prevailing rate) and calculated on the standard 1.95% rate, even on transactions where the platform fee itself is waived.
    * Is subject to fair usage: after you complete 5 or more transactions and cross a cumulative GMV of ₹5,00,000, Cashfree reviews the share of your GMV from credit card transactions. If credit card transactions account for 60% or more of your total GMV, Cashfree may withdraw the offer with immediate effect.
    * Is limited to one offer per Permanent Account Number (PAN) or bank account. If you register multiple Merchant IDs (MIDs) under the same PAN or bank account, only the first activated MID is eligible.
    * Isn't available to merchants referred through partners or resellers.
    * Isn't available to merchants in the following Merchant Category Code (MCC) categories: local and suburban passenger transportation, elementary and secondary schools, correspondence schools, and business and secretarial schools.
    * Includes a dedicated account manager and T+1 settlement by 8:00 PM IST as the default settlement cycle during the campaign, for GST-registered businesses.
    * Can be modified, suspended, withdrawn, or discontinued by Cashfree at any time, with prior notice to your registered email address.

    For the complete offer terms, see the [Cashfree payment gateway charges](https://www.cashfree.com/payment-gateway-charges/) page and the [Cashfree Terms of Use](https://www.cashfree.com/tnc/).
