# Overview

Shipping & delivery logistics are critical to the success of any e-commerce business, especially for fast-growing D2C brands. Cashfree Payments now offers an enhanced and intelligent Shipping & Delivery configuration system as part of its merchant dashboard, allowing businesses to set up, automate, and optimise delivery operations with ease.

## Dynamic shipping rule

Merchants can define customised shipping fee rules based on key variables:

<CardGroup>
  <Card title="Order Value">
    Set shipping fees by cart total—offering free shipping above certain thresholds or tiered fees for lower-value orders to boost average order values.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Pincodes">
    Define location-specific shipping fees by entering regional pincodes. This helps manage regional delivery costs and restrict shipping to high-risk or non-serviceable areas.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Products">
    Apply shipping charges based on specific products or product categories, ideal for handling bulky, fragile, or special inventory items.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Order Weight">
    Automatically calculate fees by the total weight of the order, perfect for businesses whose courier partners follow weight-based pricing.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

These rules allow full control over how shipping costs are applied and displayed at checkout, making the experience more transparent and personalised for customers.

## Integration with multiple shipping providers

Cashfree further enhances merchant flexibility by allowing integration with multiple third-party shipping providers. Merchants can:

* Compare rates across providers based on weight, volume, and delivery zones.
* Choose between lower-cost, slower delivery options or faster fulfilment at premium rates, based on customer expectations or margin strategy.
* Factor in additional COD handling charges, helping merchants make better pricing decisions on cash-on-delivery orders.

This flexibility ensures cost-efficiency and improved operational planning, while still providing timely delivery options for end customers.
