Cashfree stores UTM values only when a customer pays from a URL that includes supported UTM parameters.
Use cases
Use UTM parameters when you share the same payment form in more than one place and need to see which place produced the payment. Typical scenarios include the following:- Collect fees: Share one form in a campaign email, a WhatsApp group, and a social post.
- Accept donations: Use different UTM values for each public donation link.
- Events and webinar registrations: Compare registration payments from a story link, a banner, and an email.
- Direct-to-consumer campaigns: Place the same form on Instagram, Facebook, and your website.
How UTM tracking works
Cashfree captures UTM values in this order:- You add UTM parameters to the form link, then share a different version on each channel.
- The customer opens that link and completes the payment.
- Cashfree stores the UTM values with that payment.
- You open the Payment Form Orders report to see the source of each payment.
Supported UTM parameters
Cashfree stores only the parameters in the following table. Each name must start withutm_. Any other query parameter is ignored for tracking.
You can include any combination of these parameters.
Each UTM parameter value can be a maximum of 50 characters. If one value exceeds this limit, Cashfree does not store that value. Other valid UTM parameters on the same URL are still stored.
