Frequently asked questions
Do I need a local Indian entity to use PA-CB Import?
No. That is the core function of the PA-CB Import licence. Cashfree acts as the licensed intermediary. You collect from Indian customers without incorporating locally or obtaining your own RBI licence.
What payment methods do Indian customers see at checkout?
UPI, cards (RuPay, Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and net banking across 90+ banks. The checkout runs on local payment method logic, not a generic international gateway flow.
In which currencies can I receive settlement?
USD, EUR, GBP, SGD, AUD, CAD, HKD, and 100+ others.
What happens if transaction verification is not completed in time?
The payment is automatically reversed and refunded to the customer. If the processing bank requires additional information, you will be notified. Verification timelines are agreed during onboarding.
Do I need to register for GST before I can start collecting payments?
No. GST registration and PA-CB Import onboarding are independent processes. You can begin collecting payments from Indian customers while your GST or OIDAR registration is in progress or under review. The two tracks run in parallel.
How does settlement work?
Once a transaction is verified, funds are converted at your partner bank's FX rate on the settlement date and transferred to your overseas bank account in your preferred currency. Settlement TAT is verification + 1 business day.
What documents are needed to get started?
Tax registration number, business legal name and brand name, incorporation number, corporate office address, website URL, country of incorporation, entity type, and a brief business description and category. All submitted digitally.
How long does onboarding take?
Onboarding timelines depend on the submission and review of documents. Our team will confirm your activation status during the process.
