This anniversary, we spoke to team members who have been instrumental in building and growing Cashfree Payments over the years to hear their reflection on what it means to be here, their journey, their favourite experiences, and how both the company and fintech has evolved with time.
The People Behind the Milestones
Building First Mover’s Advantage With Punit P
Punit P, VP of Growth and Strategy led the creation of our Payouts product, which addressed a gap in the market by automating fund transfers for merchants—a need he recognised from personal experience with delayed payments.
“Today, every payment player offers this as a solution, and they say imitation is the biggest form of flattery,” he notes.”I think my biggest contribution not just to Cashfree Payments but for the entire digital economy is to be first mover to ideate, build and execute and scale a product which still commands majority market share.”
Since joining in 2016, he’s had the freedom to experiment, ideate, and build products from scratch. “When I joined Cashfree Payments in 2016, I came with a nascent experience of the payments domain. Professionally, it has been the biggest, most gratifying and most rewarding opportunity in my career,” he says.
Expanding Beyond Boundaries with Radhika Jain
For Radhika Jain, Associate Director of Growth and Strategy, her journey at Cashfree Payments has been about growth beyond traditional roles. Starting in sales, she soon took on key projects, including compliance audits and API migrations.
“It stands out as a highlight of my time at Cashfree Payments because it showed me that we’re encouraged to step out of our silos and contribute wherever we can make an impact,” she adds. This ability to stretch beyond predefined roles is a hallmark of our culture, where employees are empowered to make a real difference.
Growing Through Continuous Learning with Alen Sandosh
Alen Sandosh, Manager of Verification Suite, who joined the Inbound Sales team in 2019, shares a similar story of growth. By 2021, he was leading a team and training new hires. The following year, he led a nine member qualification team, driving process automation and enhancing lead scoring.
“The level of support and guidance in both professional and personal areas has been phenomenal from the beginning until now,” Alen reflects. “Each day I ensure we learn something new—whether from a merchant, a process, or a product.”
Navigating Challenges with Emmanuel Martin
Emmanuel Martin, Team Lead of Customer Success experienced a unique journey of growth, shaped by Cashfree Payments’ adaptive work culture. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the shift to remote work was challenging for many, but Emmanuel credits the company’s forward-thinking approach for making the transition seamless.
“This approach helped reduce feelings of isolation and fostered a sense of community, even from a distance,” shares Emmanuel. “Such an environment has not only facilitated my professional growth by providing consistent support and resources but also contributed to personal development through enhanced adaptability, improved communication skills, and strengthened resilience.”

Over the past nine years, Cashfree Payments has evolved to become a leader in India’s fintech space, driven by the dedication and innovation of its people.
“With products like Payouts, Auto Collect, SoftPos, and Secure ID, I’m confident our team will continue leading with groundbreaking innovations, cementing our position as one of the largest payment companies in India,” says Punit.
Radhika also notes, “When I started, fintech was mainly about payment gateways. With Cashfree Payments, we’ve expanded into payouts, a service that was previously only handled by banks. Cashfree Payments has adapted to these changes and grown with the industry’s needs.”
