Between shipping deadlines and incident reviews, there is rarely time to pause and ask broader questions about how we build. What do we optimise for? Where do systems quietly fail? How do we use AI responsibly without adding fragility?
Over the past year, we at Cashfree Payments have been creating intentional spaces in our office to answer those questions.
Through focused community meetups across engineering, AI, product, security, AI, marketing, and more, we engaged with hundreds of builders and leaders from across the ecosystem, including teams from Flipkart, PayPal, Wells Fargo, Adobe, EY, Deloitte, SAP, Oracle, Groww, Honeywell, Zepto, Chargebee, American Express, and Rubrik. The goal was to include fewer slide decks and more hard-earned insight.
The conversations reflected a shared intent: to learn from what succeeds in real life, look into what breaks at scale, and enhance systems together. Taken together, these gatherings provide a snapshot of the ecosystem’s evolution and the imperative of community-driven learning. Here is a rewind of those conversations and the ideas that stayed with us long after the rooms cleared.
ReactPlay Meetup
We organised a developer meetup in collaboration with ReactPlay, discussing how AI is boosting frontend workflows while reaffirming the importance of strong engineering fundamentals. Our Frontend Architect, Subramanian Kamatchinathan, and our engineer, Mayank Bhardwaj, shared how AI is shortening the journey from design to deployment, while also clarifying why human judgment remains essential in creating scalable, performant interfaces.
Women in Product India Meetup
In partnership with Women in Product India, we organised a product-focused meetup centered on AI-native decisioning and agentic workflows in e-commerce. Nitin Pulyani, our SVP and Head of Product, joined a panel discussion on building AI-native products responsibly, balancing innovation with customer empathy and long-term trust. Lavika Aggarwal, our Associate Director of Product, delivered a deep dive into agentic workflows and how AI-driven systems can evaluate payment flows and improve decision quality.
AI Tinkerers Meetup
The AI Tinkerers meetup brought together builders working on production-grade AI systems. Sessions explored agentic workflows, deterministic AI automation in regulated environments, GraphRAG architectures, and long-running conversational agents designed for reliability and auditability. From Cashfree Payments, Mayank Juneja, Architect, and Siva Durga, SDE-2, shared how AI is being applied within secure, compliant payment automation systems, grounding the discussions in real-world fintech constraints.
AI Learn Circle Meetup
We hosted a hands-on workshop with AI Learn Circle focused on building custom AI agents using n8n and OpenAI. The session opened with Raj Nandan Sharma, our Director of Engineering, who shared how AI is being applied across internal systems, teams, and workflows to scale intelligently. The workshop emphasized translating AI capabilities into practical, production-ready automation through strong system design.
Null Bangalore × OWASP Meetup
In collaboration with the OWASP Foundation and the Null Bangalore community, we held our largest meetup with 180+ folks joining us. The topics spanned from firmware-level attack vectors below the operating system, navigating cybersecurity during high-pressure incidents, to the evolution of global privacy regulations, and the growing role of AI in threat intelligence and cloud security. The breadth of conversation threw light on how security today cuts across infrastructure, compliance, and operational resilience.
SecurityBoat Meetup
We teamed up with SecurityBoat to host a security-focused meetup at our office. The agenda focused on emerging cyber attack patterns, API security in regulated financial systems, and best practices for securing cloud-native infrastructure. Across all the sessions, a consistent theme came out that security must be designed as a foundational system property rather than treated as a reactive layer.
GoPMM Meetup
We organised a community meetup along with GoPMM on the topics based on trust, impact, and the evolving craft of product marketing. Mothi Venkatesh, Associate Director of Product Marketing at Cashfree Payments, kicked off the meetup by unpacking the concept of trust as a quiet but essential force for product adoption. The ensuing discussions touched upon how storytelling shapes not just go-to-market outcomes, but also internal alignment and product direction.
Across these meetups, one pattern repeated itself: meaningful progress came from honest conversations, not polished narratives. When builders come together to exchange hard-won lessons, everyone builds better. We will continue creating spaces that prioritise substance, curiosity, and long-term thinking.
